the green floor isn’t a problem

go with a bohemian look, with lots of colors,

satin comforter (my friend got one for $34 at Ross – like a TJ Maxx or other seconds stores)

mosquito netting,

lots of storage, bookshelves, wardrobes,

lamps and sconces of different colors,

throw pillows with texture, corderoy, embroidery, silky.

Sheer curtains in different colors, over the windows, over the doors, put up curtain rods on the walls and hang curtains where ever you want, instead of painting the walls if you are uncertain about a paint color. A soft green, or blue, or mid-tone red, warm yellow will look great on the wall.

Avoid pastels. You want rich jewel tones to draw attention away from the green carpet.

Set up a small reading area away from your bed and desk. An old armchair from a second hand store draped with chenille throws will give you a comfy space to relax.

Organize the desk, it will help with studying and preparing for college. Now’s a good time to get a filing cabinet and learn to file personal papers and bank statements.
