Sorry, I don’t have any pictures to send, but I can give you the ideas that I’ve used before:) I always think that helium ballooons make a place look “special”. Use your black & white ballons and attach them to opposite colors of the curling ribbon, and let alot of it hang down and curl it. Attach them to the tables around your center pieces. Candles & flowers are both great, as centerpieces, and if you can put them on top of mirrors on the tables, it looks fantastic, with the candle light reflecting. You could pick up your red color in just a single red rose. I would use white table coverings. I don’t know what your budget is, but if it limited, use black and white (and maybe some red) crepe paper and twist it from a center point in the ceiling, and drape it to the corners and centered places on the walls. Let some of your balloons free float, but still have the curled ribbons hanging down~over the dance floor. I hope some of this helps, and you have a wonderful night!
Good Luck!!
What’s your budget? My daughter’s prom was themed”A Night on the Town” with black and white and pink. We had an art easel set up at the door with a 24″x30″ canvas painted with the theme name and in black and white a cityscape in the background. (Any art student could easily do this.) Have a red carpet at the entrance. Make cardboard top hats out of black poster board for center pieces for each of the tables, and fill them with real or artifical red roses. Rent some 12″ x12″ mirrored squares to put the top hats on top of . Buy some prom confetti in black and red and spread them around the top hat/ mirror arrangement.. White table cloths.
Buy the most inexpensive black material you can find and cascade it around the center – like you would do with a window valance. Tie each gather with red or white ribbon. Below each tie tape a 20 “x20″ diamond shape of silver metallic (can be xmas wrapping paper.) The look you’re trying to achieve with the whole room is art deco with lots of reflection. Art deco is very elegant and simple in desgn. Have all the chaperons dress in black tie(even the ladies) and escort each of the couples to their tables as they come in. Set up the band/ dj area as though it was an orchestra- like in the old Lucy/Desi TV cabanna club set designs. Where the food/ punch, etc table is have an elaborate center piece-the bigger the better- cardboard cut outs of life size people dressed in black tie/ evening gown (possibly hung from the ceiling.)
I have no pictures, but I hope this gives you some ideas. If fire laws don’t prohibit it- parachute the ceiling- the cascading fabric effect is awesome!
