Sometime. It depends where you want the job and what position you’ll have it. It also depends on how much experience you DO have, without culinary school.

I’m not sure about the pay, but I know that a lot of bakeries will hire you and train you. Try less-fancy bakeries, and maybe the bakery at your local grocery store(s) and Wal-Mart(s)

I think it really depends on the person interviewing you. maybe your fantastic with no experience, they may love you! Maybe your not very good and they want newcomers to show you off when you get good at it. Maybe they want someone who is edgey. They could really want anyone they like. It’s there choice!!!

YUP-ABSOLUTELY! I don’t remember her name, but Essence magazine profiled this woman(she was young too,in her early 20′s). She used to work at some white collar job, but always enjoyed decorating cakes in her spare time. She did wedding cakes and other special events in her spare time, and eventually made so much money she was able to quit her job and open her own cake decorating business. She is now a millionare, making cakes for Oprah, Will and Jada, and a host of other celebs-and she never had any special training or went to culinary school for it….
