I haven 't done any research or anything, so don' t come down in imitation hard to ask. My degree is in but I've always been interested more in & interior, kitchen design, the more you don 't need a license to practice interior design in the U.S. Any thoughts, resources? And where the designers get those huge catalogs of design? "(Think Candice Olson's ) manufacturers? Hello, I live in NY State. We don 't need one here, I know.

Staples or Ebay would have the software to get you started! It will just get you learning about all the basics and stuff.

Depending on where you live, you WILL need a license to call yourself an interior designer. You may also need a license to have an interior design company (I know you do in Texas). Maybe this will help:

As far as the catalogs, they come from the manufacturers. You usually have to prove that you are an interior designer to get one for free, else you may have to pay for them. You can contact the company who will put you in contact with a rep who will help you.

Well if you are accepting checks make sure to open a business account or have them make the checks to you and not your business name. You cannot deposit checks made to a business into your personal account unless you have a DBA (Doing Business As). This is a business/personal account.

You also cannot cash checks made to your business. They must be deposited and then withdrawn for tax purposes. To cash them or deposit them into a personal account is tax evasion.
