I would suggest making a paper quilt. Give everyone a square piece of paper for them to decorate however they want and then have someone up them together like a quilt. You can make some sort of theme and put them in chronological order if you wish.

One possibility would be water painting from a figures book with the patients being given full freedom to use the colors they select. Hope some music of the season will be piped into the classroom during the decorating exercise. The painted figures can be applied to a common board or taken back the patients’ rooms.
