Does anyone know of any software that is free for designing furniture or other carpentry?

Sorry, I don’t, but I do know a program I use in an engineering academy. It is called AutoDesk Inventor. Basically, you can make 3d items. My best bet would ask someone who you know is a mechanical engineer and see if they know anything similar to it.
