How is everyone decorating their nursery?

Marine Wife<3 asked:

So, I find out on monday if I’m or girl & I’m already trying to plan how to decorate the nursery. I was wondering how everyone is planning on decorating their nursery? Or, if your planning on waiting until the baby is older?
I want to do some things a little differently. For a boy I really want to decorate everything with sail boats, but for a girl I’m wanting to decorate it like a castle, which is pretty common, lol.

For my 1st born it was Baby Looney Tunes.
My 2nd born was Winnie the pooh.
I have two boys btw.

I love your nursery choices!

Our decoration is: laundry everywhere. land of laundry, whatever you want to call it, lol.

Decorations is more for you, not the baby cause they could care less if it is winnie the poo or castles.

I like Classic Pooh. :) most of my sons room (bedding, lamp, decorations) are classic pooh. I think its so cute! I love the sailboat idea though :)

We just found out we are having a boy. I put up chair rail around the whole room. Above the chair rail we will paint light green and below the chair rail a tan color. Once that’s done the bedding and decorations will be a safari theme with lions, elephants, monkeys, etc.

With my first baby I did Winnie the Pooh. With the second I did sailboats too! With this one I haven’t decided yet but it’s interesting to hear other people’s ideas.

Well, pregnant with baby #3 and being thru this 2 other times, I have learned something. BTW I LOVE decorating, but simple is best. Pottery Barn Kids classic looks seem to transition well with children and I wish I would have decorated the first two nursery’s with these thoughts in mind. Your baby is only a baby a very short while. Soon he/she develops a style of their own and their own favorites. What I am doing with baby Finley, is as soon as I find out the sex, I am buying a pottery barn comforter set in the color of my choice, but something plain with not alot going on. Then I am decking the room out with cute accessories, wall hangings ect. Things that can be changed easy as their intrests change.
