I am currently a designer for a hospitality design firm in South Florida. I have a BS in Interior Design from Florida State University. Does anyone know the best way to get started in furniture design? I know that schooling would be required, but would an apprenticeship be a good idea or alternative to formal schooling? Is there anyone in the South Florida area that specializes in custom furniture design that has suggestions for me? I have design training and experience, but I know nothing about furniture design and would like to expand my knowledge. Thanks!!!!!
I have checked the vo-tech schools and nothing is really offered. Thanks for the suggestion though. I would really prefer an apprenticeship so anyone who would like to teach a young designer who is willing to learn….please let me know!!
