I would go for a light neutral color for the rest of the walls- a sandy beige or the lighter green swatch you showed… since the brown you are thinking of is dark you might want to make sure to leave the rest light and add in some darker accents if youd like.. keeping the room lighter keeps the space not only feeling larger, but it tends to help improve the general mood of a room. especially in a living room/family room.. good luck and happy decorating! :)

Hi Lacie! We have a very similar coloured lounge suite and painted our old house a very neutral light ‘latte’ type colour and put up red feature paintings to add colour as it is always much easier/cheaper to throw in colour accessories & easier to change them to different colours when you feel like a change, especially with the chocolate lounge and neutral walls. Have you got an email address I can email you a pic of the room with the furniture at all? Lauren :)

I would go for something really light to show off the feature wall and to also make sure the room doesn’t get to dark. I like the large green swatch you have stuck to the wall… maybe something like that but just a little lighter?

@cjcook04 that is exactly what i was going to say! i found out the hard way. lol so if it looks a little lighter it may end up a bit darker bc of the coats. but i think i would do a brown accent wall and another color from that family because u want them to flow. so maybe a beige or a lighter brown. u want ur accent wall to pop

Okay…so here is what my MIL says…

Do the large window wall the accent color. The other two walls should be from the same color family…a beige color. She said the computer makes your walls look ‘buttery’ and you should stay in the creamy taupe-s for the lighter walls.

It is too funny…my SIL and MIL are really discussing this right now. I think they want to jump through and do it for you! :) They love this stuff…and are WAY good at it.

yay! you got a new couch!! Right? Anyways, it looks great! I love green. My living room is green and we have blue couches with green accent pillows. Its a great calming color and I really LOVE it! :-)

you could do a dark red wall and light tan every where else?

Love that green color you picked out, I say go with that or a neutral tan

I think a nice light butter yellow would look great. It would really warm it up and go well with the brown without being too dark.

I would say a olive like green or a camel color.

Always remember to pick 1 shade lighter because paint always looks darker than the sample picture once you get it all done.

I really like the green from the rug, I would maybe pull that color from the rug and using it on all of the walls. I also really like red accent walls but if you go with red or brown accent wall I would put it with a tanish/brown or a brownins gold maybe but keep the 2nd color lighter if you use brown, or less it will make the room look small. I have my walls a tan color with red accents like rugs curtins accesesories. Have fun!!

I would say red but it will make the room much much too dark, i would go with a very light sage color

cut the wall in half, dark color on top, light on button, or vice versa. or sponge with dark color

light brown or light green
since the accent wall is going to be a little dark

Def a creamy oatmeal type white/beige. I has gonna say maroon or green BUT it would look dark next to that accent wall and you said that is not what you want. With maroon accents (pillows, rugs, pictures) That would look so nice. :)

I think a red feature wall to match the rug would be quite nice… Possible a light cream for the other walls… Or a light brown?

i’d go for a really nice cream, like nearly gold to brighten the room up if you have one dark wall :) looks great already though!
